I'm Back and Boy How Things Have Changed!!

   So very much has changed since I last posted.  In case you didn't see the header at the top of my page I haven't posted since September.   There are  joyous reasons for this.  My wife and I were separated for many years.  Roughly about two years ago we started the long process of reconciling again.  I had to repair the bonds of trust I had smashed to bits. It was a long slow and deliberate process.  We finally got to a place to resume living together again and raising two of our grandchildren.  We found a nice new house in the neighborhood I grew up in before my parents divorced when I was ten.  A nicer place, neighborhood, and school than where my wife and granddaughters were living.  It was quite a walk down memory lane for me walking my kids their new school (where I went 50 years ago) and getting doughnuts from the neighborhood bakery on Saturday's (like my grandpa used to do for me and my sister) that is still there from when I was a kid.    It was a hectic wonderful 3 months moving and getting used to being a husband and father again of adolescent girls.

   That's when the God revealed to us our new roles he had in store for us inside this last month.  For my wife, breast cancer patient (and hopefully survivor), and for myself, the role of caregiver.  The honeymoon (so to speak) was over.  Now the real work begins.   It feels like God is telling me I'll restore you to what you darn near destroyed, but it won't be easy and you will have the chance to really live up to your vows (with emphasis on "in sickness and in health").  I will not fail because God will be with me every step of the way to be everything, and do everything my wife needs, because he promises throughout His book that he will.

Here are few verses where He promises exactly that;

Hebrews 6:10
for God is not unrighteous to forget your work and the love which ye showed toward his name, in that ye ministered unto the saints, and still do minister.

Galatians 5:13
For ye, brethren, were called for freedom; only use not your freedom for an occasion to the flesh, but through love be servants one to another.

Proverbs 19:17
Whoever is generous to the poor lends to the LORD,
and he will repay him for his deed.

Galatians 6:2
Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

   From this point forward this blog will continue to focus on my take of the word of God as it's preached to me, but that won't be my only focus.  I'll also share the journey that God has set my wife and I on.  Hopefully this will be the road to recovery and remission if it's God's will, but we don't hold any illusions about how  hard this road will be.  I plan to share all the ups and downs and the ways God's love came pouring thru.  May God bless you and keep you and yours.  It's great to be back!!!
